An abandoned watchtower was converted into an observation tower and a viewpoint for the area. At the top of the tower, a remotely controlled day and night camera was installed, scanning the area. The video it captures is live-streamed into the watchtower structure, where a recording plays in which I tell about the observations and encounters I had over the past year. The result is a live video work that changes with the seasons and times of the day, meeting a fixed soundtrack and camera movements.
The work deals with the political space in which it is located; it borrows military architectural/technological language and embeds it into art: the act of observing an "enemy" or "suspect" turns into an act of watching-over and caring-for the people and nature surrounding it.
